This is my second RA. The first was a 7/8 and now this 6/8. Both are excellent quality str8s. While both did arrive shave ready out of the box. I found performing a good stropping session on them prior to use made a very noticeable difference in performance. I shaved with the first one as was from the box. The second one, I stropped it first. These str8s have extremely consistent bevel grinds across the blade length. If you're a str8 user and don't own a RA, then I definitely can recommend adding at least one to your collection. RE has amazing customer service and it was a true pleasure to deal with them concerning both of my RA purchases. I highly recommend RE as well.

Beautiful razor at a price point much lower than it’s quality could demand. Love the olive wood scales. The razor does come shave ready - I did a quick touch up on a pasted strop just to get the edge that I want - but definitely comfortable shave right out of the box.
