When the Gillette Safety Razors first became available for retailers, having printed catalogs available were quite the norm and popular. They showed all the various models that could be ordered, along with beautiful color photographs of the Safety Razors and even information about custom options like engraving.

Often these Gillette catalogs also served as a medium to promote using or ordering Gillette Blades, shaving “the Gillette Way” or simply to popularize the use of the safety razor and an abandonment of the straight razor and traditional barber shop.
