I recently had a Vie-Long horsehair brush cleaned and the horsehair knot replaced with a best badger (I do not know who supplies RE’s knots). I was hoping for a decent back up brush to complement my others, which include two Simpson badgers, and a Trafalgar synthetic, and four other synthetics from the very inexpensive ($20) to the $50+ range. To my surprise, the Vie-Long, with a beautiful red and clear acrylic marble handle, is now my favorite. It has a very broad bloom (right term?) and splays beautifully. While it covers a lot facial turf per stroke, it does not merely flatten out like a paint brush stroke. I still get bristle penetration to help prep for the razor pass. The result is a very close and comfortable two pass shave. I intend to buy another knot of the same specs from RE and have it set in a handle, preferably vintage, that I find in my wanderings. As always, the RE service is exceptional and the communication excellent. A key point to remember: revamp can mean replacement as well as renovation. Of course the price of the knot is in addition to the revamp cost. RE discusses this with you. There are no surprises, except quality and performance exceeding your expectation. This is the second time I’ve used the brush revamp service. I have had razors revamped and/or replated four times since 2015. Each experience has been outstanding.

The knot on my 2 band silver tip Thater 4125 brush came out and razor emporium did a terrific repair on it. Looks good !

The work performed on this brush leads me to believe that Razor Emporium know what they are doing! When I received my brush, it looked like new. I received the brush faster than expected. Great job. I will definitely use Razor Emporium again. No need to look elsewhere!

I had two vintage Ever Ready brushes revamped using this excellent service. Razor Emporium kept me updated throughout the revamp process. They also offered to let me add products to the order and ship them without additional shipping fees (I took advantage of this generous offer). If I remember correctly, the entire process took less than two weeks. When the brushes were returned, they looked like NOS. The synthetic knots perform beautifully - they are among the best in my collection. I am extremely happy with the results and would recommend this service to anyone wishing to revamp a brush.
