To sum up, I recommend this Omega 10049 boar shaving brush, details to follow if you are interested.
Prior to picking up this Omega brush, I used some generic low end badger brush (made in China) which is terrible. The no name badger brush keeps losing hairs after 3 months of daily shaving, more in the beginning but even now loses about 3-5 per shave. It has no backbone and it led me to researching into shaving brushes.
As a result of my research I bought a Semogue 830 (made in Portugal) pure boar shaving brush and it is wonderful. I was so happy that I went ahead and purchased the Omega 10049 boar shaving brush.
The Omega 10049 is a larger brush than the Semogue 830, but it performs beautifully, and I also find that the handle is more comfortable to use.. The backbone of both the Omega and Semogue boar brushes are nice because they give muscle to my face lather. The boar brushes also have no problem with hard soaps.
By the way, I followed Matt Pisarcik's method of cleaning your badger/boar shaving brush and it really works. Matt's method helped break in my boar brushes and they perform so well that I have no incentive to buy a high quality badger brush.

Thank you Matt!

I bought this item because I own a synthetic one and wanted to try a natural hair brush. Also, the price point was also a major factor. The brush lathers my puck well and after a few weeks of frequent use, it became softer on my face. I am pleased that I purchased this brush.
