This is a heavy razor that gives a smooth close shave. A real value at this price. I recommend this razor.
I will start with the fact I wasn't sure about the razor since it was an OC. However, I did my first shave and I will say that it isn't overly aggressive. I would rate it about a 6/10 on aggression at most. The shave was smooth and I barely noticed the blade. Though, I did use a Gilette 7'Oclock.
Overall, I believe this is an amazing razor and can be for beginners or experienced alike.
Wasn't too sure of the open comb, but Matt assured me it will shave fine. And it does. long handle, comfortable shave.
So far it's great. Easy to hold, and easy to get the angle right. Cleans easily, and replaces razors easily. No complaints!
Before I say anything about the build quality I have to admit that this razor has a nice weight and shaves well, but after my initial admiration of the finish, I started to notice some imperfections. Firstly, the chrome finish has a blemish on one side of the razor, almost like the manufacturer ran out of chrome, something that should have been caught in their quality assurance department before they sent this out. The black grip on the handle while insuring a good grip looks a little cheap. Having said this, I'm still happy with my purchase since it does shave as well as my Edwin Jagger DE89, maybe better. It's too bad Parker doesn't seem to care what the finished product looks like.
I am glad to see Razor Emporium adding to their already great line of products for the wet shaver. I have had this razor since it was first introduced in the summer and it has become my "go to"
favorite. The shave is so smooth you will actually look to see if you remembered to load a blade. At this price point it is a true no brainer. I have a Merkur Progress and EJ Chatsworth collecting dust and they were many times the price of the 26-C.
