Our gold plating is hard acid gold which allows for good wear and brightness. We plate exclusively in 24 Karat, the purist form of the element Au (Gold) at 99.9%. It has the highest luster of that deep and rich yellow color. Cleaning of the razor would be similar to any gold jewelry; best carried out by a professional or specialized Gold cleaning products. Rhodium is a metal in the platinum family. It is a bright white shine that will not tarnish like silver. It rates high on the Moh's scale of hardness and is brilliantly shiny.

Wonderful Razor

Been a huge fan of the Merkur 37C and wanted to add a more high-end razor with the same design to my collection. Slant razors are amongst my personal favorites as they don't cause irritation and shave with virtually no cuts. Been eying the Rex Supply Sentry Slant since it was first announced and purchased it as soon as it became available. It's a beautiful, very well made razor and shaves like a dream. I have a soft spot for Razor Emporium because of their great service, friendly staff, and being the very first (and so far only) actual physical brick and mortar wet shaving store I ever purchased shaving supplies from. I'm also an Arizonan, so there you have it. I admire these guys and shipping and packaging was great and super fast. The only reason I gave it 4 stars out of 5 (I wanted to give it 4.75 or at least 4.5 but that's not an option in the rating drop-down menu) because the finish is slightly inconsistent. There was a super minor blemish that didn't bother me as much, but the brushing of the standard finish was not the same on both sides of the base plate. Honestly, very minor and definitely not worth doing anything about. However, I did notice it. Besides that, the razor is amazing and I love everything about it. Looking forward to complementing it with one of Rex's Deco Shaving Brushes and a travel/carrying case. Many thanks, Razor Emporium/Rex Supply.

The smooth sentry slant

Razor emporium has perfected the slant razor. This razor is easily the smoothest slant razor ever produced in my opinion. The only slant razor that you may consider smoother is the Rex supply Konsul and that’s only because it’s adjustable. The issue I’ve had with slant bar safety razors is the aggression. Whether it’s a Merkur, ikon, Fatip, or even the Parker semi slant they are just on the more aggressive side of shaving. For 48 hours of beard growth, all these other brands of slant razors do a great job but they are not daily driver slant razors, at least not for me. The Rex supply sentry though can easily be used as a daily driver slant razor or could tackle multiple days of beard growth. This is a classic three piece slant bar DE razor that delivers a great shave and proud American manufacturing. A great product.
