I own several slant razors. The SR71 provides a comfortable and smooth shave. I’m experimenting with different blades ,currently using a Persona . This is not my usual go to blade, this being a Feather, I did want to use too aggressive a blade until I become more used to the razor.

Let me start out by saying that I am a big fan of The Holy Black, and I have used many of their products in the past. I loved the SR-71 straight bar, and it is in my usual razor rotation. So I was anxious to try the SR-71 slant razor. After using it for 10 shaves, using 3 different blades, I was rather disappointed to discover that the geometry of this razor was just slightly off. The blade isn’t really “slanted”, it is simply slightly torqued. The other problem is that the blade doesn’t sit securely in the head, no matter how much you tighten it. It sits unevenly on either side of the head., and can move incrementally.

This thing is a beast! If you know what you are doing, and you let the weight of the razor do the work, I’ve gotten some of the best, and closet, shaves of my life. As with all slants blade choice is critical. I’ve found that Super Iridiums, Bolzanos, and Voskhods work best for me, but it’s really a matter of personal preference. I have a medium strength beard, and this thing goes through like butter.

So far I'm really impressed by the slant shave. Only gripe is that it's made in China
