Let's say you were a man of >ahem< a certain age. I love a close shave as much as the next guy, but have had problems shaving the area under my chin. There is, let's say, a bit of loose skin there as I have aged and lost some weight. A traditional DE razor can't give my neck area a really close shave. It doesn't matter how fancy the razor, how mild, how aggressive, not with a mas produced blade or one of the most expensive Japanese stainless steel honed by blind master craftsmen whose families have been doing nothing else for 20 generations, no matter whether the razor was made of the highest grade stainless steel or the lowliest pot metal, manufactured by the most authentic family-owned business or mass produced in the millions between 1929 and today's date. None of those DE razors have been able to do what this little marvel has. The trick is in the pivoting head, which follows the skin's contours effortlessly. This thing works with ordinary DE blades snapped in half. So twice the fun at half the price. AMAZING. No nicks, no cuts, no weepers, no backsies. I am keeping it. If there was one criticism it is that the retaining plate keeps you from getting under the nose effectively in one pass. So; a little touch up was needed. I own the Thorn, the Twig and a dozen DE razors from antiques to modern marvels, and this one really shines. You youngsters may be able to make a fixed head dance. For me, the Proof is the answer I have been looking for. Sold. Done. Dusted.
