I've only owned two other razors previous to purchasing this one (Rockwell T2 and a Merkur 34c). The Envoy is by far favorite out of the three, as it's smooth enough, with excellent handle grip, for me to feel secure when using. Just by looking, you can tell the degree of precise craftsmanship that went into this. Not the cheapest razor, but worth every single cent. Additionally, the amount of blade feel on the Envoy is perfect. Enough to let me know the blade's doing its job, but not so much that I feel insecure while using it.

TL;DR: I'm more than satisfied with shave, and the customer service (mostly Em) has been better than anyone could expect. Truly, white glove, luxury-level service. I became a dad to a beautiful boy back in September of 2024. While I've been into DE and straight razor shaving for quite awhile, becoming a father changed my outlook on the products I purchase. I've been focusing on getting heirloom quality items with the thought of passing them on to my son as he grows up. With that in mind, I purchased the cheapest version of a Rex razor available, the Envoy Stainless Steel edition. While there are other high quality brands out there, none of them put serial numbers on their razors. It kinda blows my mind, because it's such a simple addition, and while it may seem silly to some, I think it's super cool that one day my son might do a little research and can trace his dad's razor all the way back to the year and quarter it was made. This is one of the main draws to Rex Supply for me and the reason I plan to collect many more of their razors in the future. I don't have an endless budget, though, so I needed to dip my toes in to get an idea of the quality and whether investing further would be of interest to me. I did my due diligence and conducted a ton of research. There sure are a lot of haters out there! That didn't much deter me though, because luxury attracts haters. Plenty of haters of Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Hermès, Fendi, etc. I did have a little concern, though, because there seemed to be quite a few people who said that the shave was super aggressive and that there might be QC issues. I guess perhaps the people complaining about QC never reached out to Rex, though? Which seems odd seeing as they back all their products with a lifetime warranty... Well, for anyone reading my unnecessarily long review who might also be a tad apprehensive: no need to fret! I am blown away by how nice the shave is. It's not very aggressive at all, in my opinion. Is it crazy smooth like 1 setting on a fatboy? No, but it's not too much. I really like it, and it's currently my favorite razor to shave with. And as far as QC goes, I did have a few complaints, because mine came with a few scratches and chips. However, customer service has been amazing! They apologized and quickly sent out a replacement. Rex and Razor Emporium truly stand behind their products. I'm also very happy with the stainless steel finish. I don't have any regrets in not paying extra for plating. Hopefully I get a plated version in the future as a gift from the wife. Again, I do plan on investing and purchasing many more versions of this razor and the others they offer, like the Ambassador and Konsul, because I want to pass on a full collection to my son. 10/5 stars in my book!

I absolutely love this razor. I have many in my collection and this is my new favorite. The handle is the best I've ever used. The knurling is top tier. The angle of the razor and weight of the handle yields an effortless shave. Smooth as butter. Thank you for creating this piece of functional art. It is not ugly beautiful but provides a great shave. Highly recommend.

First shave with the Envoy polished today. Lots of blade feel, but BBS with no cuts or irritation. It's very comparable to my 6S. Glides well on tallow soap.
