Now available is the Konsul DeLuxe, a high mirror finish with either 24K Gold Plating or Rhodium plating performed by the same team of our popular Razor Revamp service. Our gold plating is hard acid gold which allows for good wear and brightness. We plate exclusively in 24 Karat, the purist form of the element Au (Gold) at 99.9%. It has the highest luster of that deep and rich yellow color. Cleaning of the razor would be similar to any gold jewelry; best carried out by a professional or specialized Gold cleaning products. Rhodium is a metal in the platinum family. It is a bright white shine that will not tarnish like silver. It rates high on the Moh's scale of hardness and is brilliantly shiny.

This product was developed by wet shaving enthusiasts to deliver a fully customizable shaving experience. A slant razor is a highly efficient tool that removes coarse stubble effortlessly and does not irritate sensitive skin. Inspired by the French guillotine, and perfected by the Germans, a slant razor is the perfect solution for shavers suffering from coarse beards and sensitive skin because of the slicing motion. We wanted to pay tribute to our slant's roots in German shaving history, but wanted to express it is equal to the ranking of 'Ambassador' and the name Konsul was chosen.

Exceptional Craftsmanship – Smooth Daily Shaver!

The Rex Konsul Slant is an outstanding razor. The quality, weight, and finish are exceptional, truly premium in every detail. It shaves like a dream: incredibly smooth, efficient, and ideal for daily use. As a daily shaver, I appreciate how effortless and comfortable each pass is. This razor has quickly earned a top spot in my rotation. I can’t wait to see how my Fatboy rhodium revamp turns out!

Great razor

I started shaving with a Gillette safety razor and a can of Barbasol in the 1960s, followed by 50 years of increasingly gimmicky and expensive cartridge razors and canned shaving creams and gels. It works out to well over twenty thousand shaves. After reading some articles about the history of shaving and the modern razor industry some months ago, I decided to try wet shaving. I now have 6 mid-range DEs, one moderately expensive SE, and four brushes. Down the rabbit hole. My razors are all good and fun to use, but I finally took the big top-tier plunge with a REX Konsul. Best shaving experience of my life. It took some getting used to -- it's a race car, not a family sedan -- but a few nicks later, I've gained some competence with the blade gap adjustment and shave technique, and I love this razor. BBS almost every time, and only minor tingles from post-shave alum block. Some Youtube reviews have said that the Konsul is not a good choice as a "daily driver," but I think they just haven't gotten to know it well enough. The only negative is loading blades, which is tricky and has given me a few cuts on my fingers. This is significant, since I remove the blade to clean and dry it and the razor after every shave, but I don't cut my fingers any more, and the tricky loading is worth the trouble to get the exceptional shaving experience the Konsul offers.

Konsul Slant Adjustable Stainless Steel D.E. Razor

Where do I start? Smooth… The razor is great! The handle feels great to the touch and secure in the hand. The weight and length feels just right for my large hand. I love how the razor’s edges are enclosed reducing. It’s rare I knick behind my ear. Once is enough. The attension to detail on the razor is outstanding. I shave five days or more out of the week with no irrataton. I’ve use a setting from 3 to 6 and it’s still smooth. Wow! Wait, did I say how smooth it is. And I moved from two passes with the Edwin Jagger 3one6 to one pass with the Konsul. Love the Rex blades as well. Loading a blade is intuitive and easy. I simply sit the head in my hand and load the blade. I feel the blade flex and hear a little feedback and tighten down the handle. The Rex razor blade seems to be a great fit the razor. I’m sure I’ll get around to trying a few more favorite blades with the Konsul, but there is no reason to change up quickly at this pace. From unboxing the razor to using it, you can feel and see it’s made well, and worth the cost. Congrats! Great job on making this razor!

Insane build quality

Beautiful unique razor. Shaves so smooth. I was once intimidated by slants, this broke the ice for me in such beautiful ways. Also, shout out to RE. They had a minor mistake in order and made it right.
