Review From Shaving 101 Site:

"For many shavers, there is nothing comparable to the Feather blade. These Japanese-made blades are the sharpest available on the market today. Feather blades are renowned among wet shavers for their ability to easily cut through even the coarsest beard types with ease. Because Feathers are so sharp, men with very sensitive skin can find these a bit uncomfortable and overly aggressive. The use of these blades also requires that you are proficient in properly preparing your skin and creating a protective lather with your shaving soap or cream. While these are very high quality blades, they are not recommend for beginner shavers as they leave very little margin for error if you are not accustomed to proper pressure and blade angle with your safety razor."

For me the sharper the less I nick

There is a lot of hype about the feather blades and they deserve it. They're sharp and smooth and for me very comfortable(your face may vary).

    not really for me

Posted by Mike on 26th Jun 2016

I'm not going to knock them, but___. I'm used to using Derby Extras and they're just right for me, including longevity and no knicks. I tried a Feather and it was great, but too sharp and aggressive-I knicked myself 6 times with the first shave, so it's back to Derby and I'm happy there.

    Don't Fear The Weeper

Posted by John Earle on 15th Apr 2016

I have a heavy beard and shave twice a day. After using Astras for a couple of years, I have switched to Feathers. All of the talk about razor burn and irritation scare a lot of people off. I use Feather blades in a Gillette Slim set on 7. It provides a smooth shave which well into the afternoon. I can shave against the grain and there's no burn. The most important thing to do is make sure your lather is slick and well applied. These blades will show any weaknesses in your technique.

    Sharpest and longest lasting

Posted by Ian on 26th Jan 2016

I've found Feather blades to be the sharpest and longest lasting blade money can buy. When I first started shaving with my antique Gillette adjustable razor four years ago, I read many reviews and tried several brands of DE razor. After over a year of trial and error I've vowed to never shave with anything but Feather blades. Use a light hand - these are sharp! I've converted my brother and father to these blades as well. Feather blades are simply as good as it gets and that's pretty awesome!

Best shave in a long time

Posted by Pat on 11th Dec 2015

I have been disenchanted with the high tech multi-blade shaving heads, mainly because they are too pricey. I never use disposables because they never seem to last more than one shave and don't work well for me anyway. I never got a good shave from an electric razor. I remember that my Dad used a double edge safety razor so I figured I would see how well they worked and do a kind of cost/benefit analysis.

I started with the Van der Hagen set from Target and the blades were awful. I found out that not all DE blades are created equal and just because they were made in Solingen, City of Blades, that does not make them good. I read a couple of reviews and the Feather blades were mentioned in a couple as very good. I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised on my first shave.

I can only get about 5 shaves before they start to dull noticeably but the value is there and the shave is nice and close.

    The only blades for me!

I've tried a half dozen different brands of blades, but nothing comes 'close' to the shave I get from these!
