SKU: MDC-F

Description

Saponification made with heat action, in the traditional way in Martin de Candre atelier, with 100% vegetal and potash oils. Thanks to its 40 years of experience, they guarantee a perfected process. This process allows excellent keeping of the soap without needing any conservatives. A luxurious, efficient and long-lasting product.

Its soft and delicate fragrance known as Fougère, is a cologne made from 12 essential oils. Traditionally, fougère designed any fresh perfume with a green and wooden note. Martin de Candre has created its own version of the perfume since 1974. It also contains a wide variety of beneficial properties: hydrates, calms and soothes the skin.

It is suitable for any skin type. It generates a rich lather with a small quantity. The Fougère shaving soap is presented in a modern and elegant crystal bowl of 200g with a screw on lid.

* Some advice from Martin de Candre on how to wet shave :

- Thoroughly wash your face with warm water for a couple of minutes.

- Always rinse your shaving brush well under warm water after each use and gently flick out the excess water. Too much water and the lather will become runny and will dry out too quickly when applied to face.
- Brush the shaving soap in a circular, whisking motion with the shaving brush until a rich lather forms. Do not press down on the bristles, as this may damage the brush - simply move in quick circular motions.

- Now use the brush to apply the lather to your beard in small, gentle, circular motions or in gentle painting motions.

Experiment until you produce a good lather.

- When finished quickly rinse the shaving soap bowl-like container under cold water to remove excess foam. Invert bowl so as to let soap drain and dry. Soap dries best when bowl is left open.

A good shaving soap used along with a shaving brush provides an extremely close shave making you feel clean and comfortable.

There’s a reason this soap is expensive (ah, very expensive), and that’s because it’s worth every penny!. So smooth…so easily lathered…so fragrant! Never thought a vegan soap could be this good!!! WOW!

    MDC Soap and lather.

Easily loads on brush, triple milled and goes a long way. My second MDC purchase. Own both the Vetiver and Fougere. Will ultimately get the Rose. Just a fantastic soap and I seem to prefer the hard soap (triple milled) over the softer bases. Prefer to load the brush off the puck and build lather on the face. Outstanding lather and great residual slickness. Just have to not be afraid to use water as needed to create a booming lather.

Martin De Candre Fougere Shaving Soap

In "When Harry Met Sally", (spoiler alert) Harry, played by Billy Crystal, says to Sally, Meg Ryan, at the end of the movie, that "when you realize that you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." That is how I felt about Martin De Candre Fougere Shaving Soap. I wanted to use it and nothing else. The lather is the best: it's thick, fragrant and feels substantial on your face. No other soap I've tried compares. It also protects as well as other soaps. Don't let the price deter you, it's over 7 oz vs 4 or 5 oz for other brands and it's suppose to last for a year's worth of shaves. Compared to TOBS, it's only a penny or two more per shave, so that is well worth it. I liked it so much, I purchased two other scents and they were just as good. You should treat yourself and give it a try.
