The razor itself is exactly what you pay for. It will show up razor sharp, ready to deliver a smooth shave, but the steel itself is of lesser quality and I imagine it will ding and divot pretty easily. Here’s why I’m so impressed: I ordered my first razor on a Saturday and it arrived on Monday afternoon, so the shipping was great, when it showed up it was dull, dinged, and couldn’t shave the hair off my arm let alone my face. I called razor emporium and within a few minutes they not only sent out a brand new razor but gave me a new strop as well. When I asked them if this was a common issue for them, they responded by saying that because each razor is sharpened and honed by hand, some will slip through the cracks and get shipped out in less than ideal quality, but they will always replace faulty razors and do what they can to make things right. The staff I spoke with was friendly, intelligent, and able to help make me feel better about choosing them for my first straight razor. If money was no issue I would have gone one step up and bought the DOVO as I have extremely sensitive skin so the higher the quality of steel the less I break out, but if you’re looking for a great shave on a budget, this is the product, and company to chose.

Good entry razor - Went to a DE razor then this entry level straight razor. Good starting point to see if I want to shave this way -- yes.

It really shaved right out of the box. My best straight shave so far, but I’m still figuring this all out.
