What We Do

Vintage safety razors pack some of the most bang for the buck, but knowing if they are fully functional, hygienic and shave-ready is a different story. Starting at $29, we offer a professional restoration that helps bring your old-school razor back to its glory days. 

*Please Note: Specialty razors include Bottom Dial Fatboy, Red Dot Fatboy, and Toggle Safety Razors.

How it Works

  1. We first clean your razor in our industrial ultrasonic machine to remove any soap scum, mineral deposits and grime. Disassembly is carried out for the best results whenever possible. 
  2. Next we carefully polish the inside and out of your razor, bringing the vintage metal up to a high luster. 
  3. Mechanical adjustments are made to ensure the best functionality of your razor.
  4. We carry out any painting that is needed - numbers on adjusters, tips on super speeds and black handles. We use color-matched powder coating that exactly replicates the original factory colors and process. 
  5. Razors are again cleaned and sanitized before being lubricated and mailed back home. We include a free Polishing Cloth that will safely keep the shine on your vintage find!

  2. You will purchase Shipping during checkout, this is how we will return your razor after completion.
  3. You will receive an Order Confirmation E-mail within minutes of your purchase. Click the link that says Shipping Instructions for Service Work and follow the directions. Include the ticket number / bar code scan form in your package.
  4. Send in your razor however you choose - USPS Small Flat Rate box is our recommendation. The postage you have purchased already is for return shipping.
  5. We'll let you know when we receive your razor and keep you updated during the process. 
  6. Our turn-around time is 3-5 business days once we receive your razor.

    Razor Tune UP

    I sent in my 1972 Gillette 109 Super Adjustable razor after purchasing on Ebay. Shave was terrible and upon inspection noticed it was bent and out of alignment and the doors opened unevenly. Tune up TAT was quick and what I received back was outstanding. Now feels like a new razor and shaves fantastic. I'm looking forward to many years of comfortable shaves. Thank you, Razor Emporium!

    Revamp Service

    I originally sent in my 1958 Gillette Super Speed for a tune up since one side was shaving closer than the other. The techs at Razor Emporium recommended I upgrade to the revamp service as there were some notches/dents on the bar that may have been affecting the shave so I changed to the revamp service and went with the factory nickel plating. The result was fantastic! It shaves way better than before and it looks amazing! Now I know what one of these looked like when it was new. Kudos to the Razor Emporium team for the great work and service! Highly recommend.

    Tune-up service - Gillette Slim

    My Slim had a sticky door; play in the TTO knob; felt like it might bite me; and the finish was a bit dull. I debated a full revamp but decided the tune-up should do, as the plating was otherwise fine. As promised, it took about a week from the time Razor Emporium received it until they had it in the mail heading back. It took a month to get here, but through no fault of Razor Emporium - in fact, they followed up with USPS for me when it stalled in LA for two weeks. I received it today. Definitely shinier than when it left, and the mechanical issues were all gone. Took it for a test shave - and it was the best shave I've had from the razor. It now feels the way it ought to - smooth and efficient without the threatened bite. I'm very pleased with the service - and with the prompt follow-up when I asked them to check with USPS. Highly recommended.
