More Information

Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap was first produced in the early 1930s by Bradford chemist Fred Mitchell who realised that the natural lanolin content of wool fat, which kept the hands of local sheep shearers and wool sorters so exceptionally soft, could also be beneficial to delicate complexions and sensitive skins.

A simple and natural product, Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap is still made to Mr. Mitchell's original formula, based on a recipe from the turn of the century and incorporating lanolin from the wool fat as the key ingredient.

These are very gentle products particularly soothing to sensitive skins, often been recommended by members of the medical profession to help alleviate certain skin complaints.

From its early loyal following of mainly local customers, the reputation of Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap has grown and it is now in great demand not only in the British Isles but in Europe, Australia, Japan and the USA.

    Love this soap

To start off, the ceramic dish this soap comes in is just beautiful. Its simple enough, but looks great sitting on the counter. Certainly nicer than some plastic tub. Even if i hated this soap, I'd have the dish just sitting there, but the soap is great too. Very mild sent, lathers easily with the small Simpson badger brush I use. I've been using this daily for a couple of weeks now and hardly made a dent in it yet. Great soap that, for me at least, is worth every penny.

    Great Product

I absolutely love this product. It is truly the best out there. This will be my permanent shave soap from here on out.

    As advertised

The scent is extremely mild. The soap builds up a leather well and feels good on the face. I would buy it again. The only reason for four stars instead of five, is the cost compared to others that have an amazing sent. For those times I want mild, it’s great

    great winter soap

I've been looking for a good winter soap to help with dry air, dry skin. After a few uses, I can say this soap does exactly what I bought it for. It lathers nicely with my boar and badger brushes and I like the way it smells. The smell (while subtle) lingers well after the shave, which I also like.
