While most of our competition builds in allowance for casting and painting, Henson Shaving required and achieved remarkable less than five ten-thousandth of an inch (0.0005) tolerance on critical dimensions through the machining and anodizing process.

This means your blade sits straight every time. The blade support creates the most accurate blade exposure on the market. Accurate blade exposure combined with our unique design means no vibration in the blade (or chatter). Chatter is what causes razor burn and in-grown hairs.

I cannot believe how good this razor is

I live in Spain and on Amazon the Henson AL13 is €90, so I decided to purchase it from Razor Emporium as it worked out around €63 plus shipping. Unfortunately I had to pay €25 customs charge so it actually cost me more than €90. Having previously used a Merkur Futur a Merkur 34c and a Muhle, I wanted to see if there was anything else better and having done a bit a research the AL13 came up again and again. Tonight 20th May 2025 having received my razor on Monday I used it for the 1st time. I also used the Henson blade that come with it. Wow, wow, wow, the shave was incredible, I have never had a better shave, I can't put it better than that. The hard to reach spot under my nose was easy, everything about the shave was perfect. The razor itself is extremely light but it has a nice length handle with excellent grip. If you didn't get a life time guarantee with this razor I would be buying another one as back up. If your thinking about a new razor, please go and get this it is phenomenal. The Henson blades you get are extremely good too and don't feel aggressive and I have just ordered a box of 100 from Amazon. THANK YOU Henson a magnificent feat of engineering. One thing I want to add about Razor Emporium, I emailed them as my razor had been stuck in Madrid for 3 days and I wanted to know what was going on. Sadly they didn't respond, so that was poor.

Smooth Shave but not very close

As advertised, a razor that anyone can pick up and begin using, the small blade extension makes it very very unlikely to cut/nick yourself making it a very good razor to transition to double edge. For me personally, I switched from cartridge razors and not having razor burn anymore has ensured I will keep this razor for a very long time. Note that it will give you a smooth shave but its not super close so you almost will have to shave on a daily basis.

Best DE safety razor for beginners!

I had always wanted to try a double-edge (DE) safety razor but was afraid of getting nicks due to the learning curve coming from cartridge razors (such as Gillette Mach 3). I researched the internet to find the mildest safety razor and came across this one. It is perfect for a beginner! It has a fixed angle which makes it a bit safer and has a mild option. I let the weight of the razor guide me and did not get any nicks at all. I also recommend getting a Double Edge Safety Razor Sample Pack - Mild from Razor Emporium. It is great to pair with this product.
